Have you received an email from "Reverend Father Sean Carroll, SJ ", claiming that he is an priest or "Rev." for a the former prime minister of Britain, Sir Edward Richard George Heath, man who named YOU in his will or had no heirs but left his money to you? This is all just a scam to get you to send the scammer money.
How on earth would the former prime minister know you? He died in 2005! And notice that the email is coming from an account in Germany; a free email account at that, not an official church domain.

Note the items highlighted in the actual email below. You would think a priest or reverend would have the education (or at least a spell checker) to avoid so many spelling, punctuation, syntax, grammar and other mistakes. Not to mention the unusual and unprofessional use of free Yahoo email accounts instead of a church or business email address.

I write to bring to your notice on behalf of the Bequest Board of Trustees and executors of the estate of late leader of Britain's Conservative Party, Prime Minister Sir Edward Richard George Heath, KG, who made you a beneficiary to his (Will). He bequeathed the sum of US$750,000.00, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars, only to you in Item (3) of the Codicil and Last Testament to his (Will). Well, I know that this News may be quite surprising and astonishing to you, but it is real and true, Sir Edward must have been in contact with you in the past or you must have been nominated to him by one of his numerous friends here or aboard that wished you well, and as a Child of God that has been of help to the people, this is our Lord's doing and we don't have to say or do anything than to say "Alleluia" to the risen Lord and glorify his marvelous name.
The Right Honorable Sir Edward Richard George Heath, KG died in Salisbury, England, July 17, 2005 at the age of (89) years. He served in the Royal Artillery during World War II, rising to the rank of colonel. He was elected to Parliament as a Conservative in 1950, and held several posts in the party whip's office (1951-55) before becoming government chief whip and parliamentary secretary to the treasury (1955-59), He was minister of Labour (1959-60) that led the Tory government as prime minister between 1970 and 1974, and was responsible for bringing Britain into what was then the European Economic Community, before losing the leadership of the Conservative Party to Margaret Thatcher in 1975.
Sir Edward Heath, until his death was a Christian who loved to give out. Quoting former Labour Chancellor Roy Jenkins, a friend of Sir Edward, Mr. Tony Blair added: "He was a great lighthouse which stands there flashing out beams of light, indifferent to the waves which beat against him.
He was also a member of several non-governmental organizations here in UK and beyond, his great Philanthropy earned him numerous awards during his lifetime. Sir Edward, the author writer of; Old World, New Horizons (1970), Music (1976), and British Approach to European Foreign Policy (1977).
This Bequest is for the support of your Christian activities, humanitarian services and help to the less privileged in your local community and Country.
As member of the Board of Trustees and executors of this estate, I wish to inform you that the (Will) was read at the Probate Division of Her Majesty's Royal Crown Court on December 10, 2007 in line with the provisions of the British inheritance laws. Please if I reach you as I am hopeful, endeavor to get back to me as soon as possible to enable the lawyer executing the (Will) conclude his job. You should forward along your telephone and fax numbers including your present mailing address.
