Your Money?
Miss Nafisatu John Apollo is another example of a dating scam. This one arrives by email, and may
be a spam that arrives out of the blue, or it can be sent to a profile you have
on a dating website. If you are active on online dating
websites, or via classifieds, chat rooms and forums, beware. Some reports
indicate that as much as 30% of the personalities are scams:
- either scammers set out to part you from your money;
- fake profiles intended to redirect you to another website (porn,
gambling or even another dating website); or
- real people looking to date... but they are not who they claim to be!
Even the biggest and oldest dating websites, such as Match.com, eHarmoney,
AOL, etc., are not immune to scammers. Dating has changed since the advent of
the internet and you have to be knowledgeable and have you guard up to find true
love, instead of a real scam!

How is your day?I believe it is great.I read your
mail and i realise very well that you are someone who would treat me with
love and understanding as i have gone through a lot of pains.I appreciate
your effort towards me,and your interest to assist me.You are a nice and
kind pearson my darling,I love you so much.I am in love with you and darling
i have make up my mind to be with you as my life partner.I want to meet you
very soon.You are my darling sweetheart.Please I need your help to get this
money out from the bank.Then we will use a part of the money to help people
who are in need,and you help me to invest the remaining in business when i
will be finishing my education.
As I told you in my previous mail, i am presently
living in the refugee camp here in Dakar Senegal as a result of the death of
my parents.Things are very difficult here and all my hopes is on you and for
you to assist me transfer $7.5 million us dollars deposited by my late
father at BANK OF AFRICA SENEGAL to your account so that you can send some
money for me to prepared my travelling documents to meet with you for love
and marriage. I have informed the bank about my plans to get this money and
the only thing they told me is to look for a foreign partner who will stand
on my behalf due to my refugee status.

but can you believed that since ever i meet you my mind tell me that you
have been giving to me by God.I have mapped out 15% of the total sum for
your assistance.
Moreover,my lovely darling i will need your
assistance to manage the money on my behalf since am too young to handle
such money.

What can you do to avoid being scammed on dating websites Scammers are
present everywhere on the dating websites. Even if you use established dating
websites, like Match.com, eHarmony, etc., and even the women say they live in
your own country, you may be scammed. Before you invest your emotions into a
long distance relationship, compare what they say against common sense.
Someone who claims to be in love without, sight unseen, never having met you in
person, is mostly a scammer or simply unbalanced. Apply the same common sense
rules of safe dating online as you would in person. |
